Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She is also an accomplished public speaker. Feminist Frequency provides videos, commentary and analyses of the way in which popular culture portrays women. Anita Sarkeesian a Canadian American media critic. From an early age she was intrigued with gender issues and feminist thinking. While still at school in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency Website. This ambitious woman planned to start an internet-based series on the gender roles in games but was the target of a harassment campaign online. The incident did not deter her, but instead strengthened the determination of an activist for women in media. The award-winning journalist has received numerous accolades to recognize her significant contributions to the world of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning journalist. She is also the founder and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit group that focuses on pop-culture gender representations.
