Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was one of the first Roberts to move to Atlanta. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre since a young time. When he was a college pupil at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he was a part of numerous shows. He joined the Air Force in 1953. During his time working in Biloxi Mississippi, he was a part of an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was as well in the air force. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year 1957. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans In 1957, the city of Louisiana where the couple left the US Air Force. Walter was hired as a technician by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show for kids known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project that they funded themselves. They also created an organization that lasted for six years called the Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. Lelisa Billingsley who is also referred to as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
