Mena Alexandra (born on the 13th of February 1979) is a model and actress hailing from the USA. After a brief period as a model in the fashion industry and then a transition to acting by appearing as a guest star on TV shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s, and High Incident. She made her film debut in the 1997 thriller film Nowhere. Her transition into major roles with her performances of American Beauty for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award and American Pie each of which garnered more attention. In 2000, she appeared alongside her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. She then played the lead role as the lead character in Sugar & Spice (2002). In 2002, she starred in Spun the independent drama and the thriller of 2004. In 2004, she starred on HBO's show Six Feet Under. She was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in for 2005 in the category of Outstanding Ensemble. The show also included Day of the Dead, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, and the movie version of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was featured in numerous magazine and blog posts and blogs, such as Vogue. She's the official Lancome model and appears on print advertisements for Lancome Paris Adaptive. She has long been a supporter and a defender of the highly regarded African relief organization the African Medical and Research Foundation. She is also involved with women's empowerment issues as well as working with other organizations to help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as The End Violence Against Women Campaign.
