Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a star who strayed completely from traditional music into pop culture, turning into an iconic pop star that is set to last forever and conquering all of the world. Swift removed her roots in the country like they were a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest popular singer/songwriter in her generation someone who was able to harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. The evidence was clear in her early songs, particularly with regard to the neo tribute of Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008), Swift showcased a writer getting to understand her. Fearless went on to become a global hit but not only in North America (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia, the U.K. and other countries. Speak Now delivered almost two years later consolidated that achievement and propelled Swift towards the top of superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout her subsequent three albums: Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within the genre she was a part of. It was not long before she altered her plan in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
